COMMUNITY ALERT: YOUR FIRE DEPARTMENT NEEDS YOU

This Saturday, April 27th, from 10 AM to 1 PM, the Chelsea Fire Department will be hosting an important town hall meeting at Fire Station 2, located at 16 Brockway Road in Wappingers Falls. We invite all members of our community to join us for this critical discussion on the ongoing need for volunteers and the essential support we require from our community.

The Critical Role of Volunteers
Our fire department, like many across the country, relies heavily on the dedication and bravery of volunteers. These selfless individuals are the first to respond when emergencies strike, providing not only firefighting services but also medical aid, disaster response, and community safety education. Volunteers embody the spirit of community service and are vital to the safety and well-being of our town.

The Consequences of a Volunteer Shortage
However, we are facing a significant challenge that could affect the safety of every resident in our community. A shortage of committed volunteers can lead to slower response times, increased risks during emergencies, and a greater burden on the limited number of active firefighters. It can also lead to increased operational costs as the department may need to hire more paid staff or invest in additional resources to meet the demand for services.

This strain not only impacts the fire department but also every resident in our community. In times of crisis, every second counts, and a well-staffed volunteer team can be the difference between a swift resolution and a prolonged emergency.

How You Can Help?
Joining our town hall meeting will give you insight into the workings of the fire department, the roles of volunteers, and how vital they are to the fabric of our community. Whether you can volunteer as a firefighter, assist in administrative duties, or support in other capacities, your help is crucial.

We also understand that not everyone can be on the front lines, but there are many ways to support your local fire department:
- Promote awareness of the need for volunteers within your network.
- Consider making a donation to support training and equipment.
- Attend community events hosted by the fire department to show your support.

Join Us This Saturday, April 27th
We urge every resident of our community to come to this town hall meeting. Your participation is essential to understanding the challenges we face and exploring how best we can work together to overcome them. Let's unite to keep Chelsea safe and supported.

We look forward to seeing you there and working together to ensure a safe and resilient community.
